Bullets have no eyes

17 December 2012

Bullets have no eyes...
they can't see the fear of innocent children
they can't see the tears of tormented parents
The politicians are as blind too.

I am truly saddened by the news of the mass killing in Sandy Hook Elementary school in Newton, Connecticut.

May all the victims rest in peace.

Halloween 2012

This year, we had the halloween celebration on the 3 Nov (Sat). Bought 40 balloons, so glad to find out my vacuum cleaner can inflate the balloon easily.
We started decorating the function room a day before the event. My daughters enjoyed decorating and creating the halloween atmosphere.

I have to thank my co-organizer Mr BL for helping us with the lights. He pasted red and blue glass paper to create the right mood. We had been co-organizing the halloween event for a few years. Being a pilot, he has very busy schedule yet he is very dedicated in organizing this event. He told me I will be his "co-pilot" on that evening :-)
My lovely little niece was transformed into an adorable rag doll by her creative and artistic mom.
And her mommy turned herself into a doll too!!! How lovely!
I must say this little rag doll is the most attractive one on that night.
My elder daughter created an interesting headpiece with polymer sushi on tray+ a pair of long chopstick I bought from Vietnam a few years ago.
The cavewoman & rag doll couldn't resist to take a bite out of the yummy sushi.

Fighting for the sushi??!!

Having fun with face painting

Truly appreciate my hubby for his time & effort in making the "creeper head", "pickaxe" etc for these Minecraft (computer game)  fans .

A group photo before we go for Trick or Treating.
This year we went trick or treating in a few small groups. It was less crowded, but I must admit it was somehow less exciting.

oops... the "seaweed" dropped?
Halloween costume wardrobe malfunction!!??

At 9pm, we adjourned to function room.

A notice board in front of the function room...
Waiting patiently for the door to open.
A cool batman and pirate guarding the main entrance.
Suddenly the Joker appeared (my co-organizer Mr BL) and took the trick or treaters by surprise.

We rented a projector for RM150 (downpayment was RM900). We showed the guests slide show displaying the past 4 years of halloween celebrations. The talented Mr BL also made interesting video clips (with scary sound effect & images) to entertain+scare the audience.

Passing the "skull" until the music stopped.

Trick or Treaters dancing Oppa KL Style.
Many kids queuing up to hit the pinata.
Finally the pinata burst open and kids ran to grab the candies
A neighbour who owns a toy shop sponsored a big box of glow in the dark sticks.

Another unforgettable halloween :-)

Special candles for halloween

Setting the halloween mood with fake spider web, spiders, flickering candles etc

I truly love this set of Philip LED candles that my hubby bought for me recently! It comes with six light base and six frosted glass holders. It has the soft glow that instantly enhances the mood of the surroundings, be it a romantic, soothing or spooky one.

The frosted glass holder looks beautiful. Even so, I can freely place the light base inside any other candleholders.

The recharger - It claims to provide up to 6 hours of continuous light.
There’s no wax spillage and it is smoke free. Best of all, there’s no fire disaster!

Now if only I can just clap to “blow off” the candles ...

DIY Halloween lantern & silhouette

I bought 2 white paper lanterns from Daiso (RM 5 each), and turned
both into Jack-o'-Lantern and Frankenstein lantern.

I am going to transform the pictures inside the vertical frame...

Now the 2 frames at both sides of the big mirror in my dining room are graced with silhouette set of halloween characters!
