Fun Experiment!

Vinegar, baking soda, yeast, sugar, balloon...
Tian Zi loves Astro TV IQ. She's inspired to carry out experiments after watching it. (Tian Huey's class had just carried out the yeast and sugar experiment too)
When Tian Zi's brother's younger, he requested a science kit too.
Being a mother who never baked, that's the first time I bought YEAST, BAKING SODA & FOOD COLOURING...
Yeast, sugar and water... my kids had the same curiosity at the same age...
A few years ago I bought a microscope for my kids and they became fascinated with the microscopic world. They also came to realize the importance of keeping the hands clean... and how terrible lice is (the time when my 2 girls had head lice, we caught a few and had a good look under that microscope. Yuk!)

Beautiful sunday morning...

Every sunday morning, our art teacher Mr James Pua will come over to give lesson to me and my elder daughter. We'll spend one and a half hour drawing and painting. It's very fulfilling!
Mother & daughter learning art together...(I'm learning some "basic sketching" that I missed out last time)
My youngest daughter will bring her homework out. It's fun to see others draw too!

My daughter joined an art centre before but it's so commercialized that she quit after only the 3rd lesson. It's important to obtain guidance from a good & inspiring teacher. I'm glad I finally found one again after so many years!

"Kakak" is back!

FINALLY! My maid is back from her one month holiday in Indonesia. She's been with us more than 5 years and this is the second time she went back for holiday. The last time she went back, her father cried when she bid farewell. This year, he's 95 and ailing. But on the bright side, both father and daughter reunited for a while even though he did not really recognize her. I hope that he knows his daughter is being treated like family here.
Kakak knows Tian Zi likes this. (We discovered Oreo with strawberry flavor when we were in Bali a few months ago. Can't seem to find it here). Kakak treats my kids like her own, and my kids adore her too.
WOW! She brought kites all the way from her country! (a few months ago Tian Zi kept pestering us to buy kites for her)
Fruit candy. How sweet!

Indonesian cookie.
The traditional "Jacks and Ball" for Tian Huey & Tian Juin
(There's even a cute little rabbit inside)

Banana chips that she fried for us. How delicious!

How thoughtful of her, and how blessed I am to have her as my helper.

"Masak-Masak" the modern way

I found this mini electric stove that my hubby bought many years ago. When he's working in UK, he used it to cook japanese noodle during cold winter nights.
I decided to let my kids play "masak-masak" (cooking game) the modern way... instead of using fire.

They said it's FUN!
