Love Nest

When my family was back in hometown for our Chinese new year celebration, a pair of love birds started building their love nest in our backyard.
There’re a lot of dried leaves falling on the artificial grass. We tried to bend the bamboo and relocate the nest but our feathered friends insisted on the earlier location which had better shelter (we saw them starting building a new one again). Feeling sorry, we immediately move the nest back.
Fortunately our new tenants did not feel threatened. They did not abandon the nest. Instead, the dedicated parent-to-be have been busy bringing little twigs to the pendulum nest again.
The nest looks neater now...but it's still incomplete.
We feel blessed to have them in our home. It’s so wonderful and memorable to observe nature up close.

Happy New Year!

I wonder why the man & boy have to look so serious when taking picture?

It's such a wonderful time of the year!

A New Year Gift...

Received a beautiful gift from my supplier, with my hubby's name and my name printed on it. Even though the printer is trying to showcase the latest printing technology, I love that gift... and appreciate their professionalism and printing support all these years.

Looking at those lovely heart shape chocolates + mandarin oranges, I can't wait to celebrate the first day of Chinese New Year which happens to be the Valentine's Day too! (and, well... my kids can't wait to empty the box!)

Happy new year to all my dear friends & family members, and my "igloo" friends and visitors. May you have a wonderful year ahead. 祝大家新年快樂,萬事如意。

Office New Year Decoration

My office definitely looks a lot wider with the help of my hubby's AF NIKKOR 14mm f/2.8D ED & AFS 17-35mm f/2.8D ED.

Homework! Homework! Homework!

One evening, Tian Huey was feeling tired but still loaded with unfinished homework. I advised her (nag her a bit) to take a nap but she refused to do so. She's afraid that she couldn't finish her homework on time. Feeling frustrated, she drew 3 cartoons below...

Sad --> Angry -->BURST!

Not bad she could still find time to draw... and hopefully that would help to relieve some of her stress too.

I love this plant

A beautiful gift from my brother & sister-in-law. They have one at their home and I told them I love those beautiful flowers very much. Few days ago they bought one from a nursery and gave it to me. What a sweet surprise. Thank you, Yuin Hui & Hui Jun! (sorry, I still can't remember the name of the flower)

town mouse and country mouse

Recently we had some unwelcome guests. My maid tried to give them a "treat" --- ikan masin (salted fish) but they seem to prefer potato inside our kitchen cabinet.

My maid was disappointed by her unsuccessful attempt to entice those "Ratatouille" into the mouse trap. "Kampung saya punya tikus suka ikan masin," she was puzzled and said the mouse in her village love salted fish.

"Mungkin bandar punya lain," I told her perhaps "Town Mouse" & "Country Mouse" have different taste (just like the one in the children storybook)
