The Needy Children

Two years ago my family joined our Christian neighbor's Cell Group to visit a Shelter Home for abused children. My kids saw with their own eyes and realized how fortunate they are as compared to those children without parental love.

Recently I've been following a few blogs of western couples adopting special needs children from China. I'm truly touched by their stories and feel that all of us should do something to help the needy children in whatever way we can.

My hubby & I are sponsoring a boy in China on his education needs through Sin Chew Jit Poh 星洲日報愛心助養計划
(I once read the letter written by that boy to my kids and reminded them not to waste unnecessarily as the money they save can help on others education needs).

A few months ago we also gave a donation for a Buddhist temple to build an orphanage. This is truly a very small act act as compared to what others have done. (My brother & sis-in-law help out in a Soup Kitchen program on their sundays. I respect them for their noble act)

I come across the following touching poem from another blog...

Every call has a beginning
A quiet moment when God
whispers a promise to a mother's heart
A holy place where a father bows and faithfully accepts
the journey set before him.
A miraculous morning that unexpectedly dawns.....
Casting its first light on a chosen threshold.
A gentle knock... a closed door opens.
A sacred invitation sent by the Father..
Leads to the other side of the world.
Where lonely hearts stare out orphanage windows.
Praying for someone to care...
and then one morning,
On an ordinary day
An orphan's life is changed...
God sends them a second chance.... Through you...

That's very nice of you to a sponsor a kid in China and for taking your kids to a shelter for abused children. A lot of kids (like mine) are lucky and don't even know it.

Daddy Forever, even though my kids are aware of what is happening to the unfortunate children, they are still quite demanding & have not fully realized how fortunate they are!

天天天藍,妳說得對,集合眾人的力量就是希望!

It's so very kind of you to help sponsor the child. Hopefully he'll benefit something from there. Yeah, we should be thankful and grateful with whatever we are having at the moment and help wherever we can.

Ya, yuin teng you have put a very important love value to your kids lives, maybe now they could'nt feel it or appreciate it but trust me, this noble root and seed is started to grow in their heart, for i believe God love a cheerful giver, " we are blessed so that we can bless other" this is always the motto of my life!
