The not so fun part of childhood...

Tomorrow is the last day of UPSR. I know my daughter can't wait for it to end (and so do I).

She loves to draw & read story books but sometimes spends too much time on those activities instead of preparing for this "important" exam. I know at times she's frustrated when I nag her to study.

The following are extracted from her drawing book (with her permission).

Hi Claire, my daughter can draw very well. She usually draws directly without sketching with pencil.

When she's very young, she doodled on the wall and I forced her to rub off with eraser. Only years later I realized that's because she loves to draw so much but I didn't prepare paper for her at that time. Now my hubby and I give her constant supply of paper, drawing block, all types of marker pen etc. I'm an art lover too, and so I can feel how she feels :-)

Huey would like to thank Uncle Eugene for all the encouragement! She's quite confident to go for exam today as it's English and Science.

Hey Eugene, your boys are good! No need tuition but can do so well. I'm sure your constant encouragement boosted their morale. My daughter attended BM tuition but not other subjects. I also don't believe in too much tuition. If not... she won't be able to squeeze out time to produce those master piece, ha ha..

Hi Yuin Ting, wow! I am impressed with your girl's artistic talents. She is very good, very creative, putting her thoughts into drawings or sketches.
Motivate he on her sketches....who knows she might become an artist or work that requires drawing skills.
Have fun and keep well.
Lee.

很遗憾的,原来UPSR也是我三个孩子从前的噩梦,至今仍不留恋小学生涯,多可悲!

Thanks for your advice, Uncle Lee. I motivate her to draw. My dad used to encourage me a lot by buying art books, framing up my drawings, even handmade a wooden oil painting palette for me etc. I'm forever thankful for what he has done for me.

Thanks, prince n princess mum. With your passion, creativity and encouragement, I'm sure your "castle" will have lots of your prince and princess's masterpiece :-)

夫人,雖然UPSR結束了,但我女兒的惡夢還沒結束。她在為成績擔心 ,又害怕別人拿她的成績做比較。真可憐。
